acXess Gaming Code of Conduct
Offensive Posts and Banned Content: aXs is
committed to providing a safe and wholesome environment. Posts that are
offensive in nature may be edited or deleted at an admin or a moderator’s
discretion. Proper action will be taken for offensive posts. Examples of offensive posts are per the below, but not limited to:
Profanity: The profanity filter will
automatically reject any profanity. Any attempt to bypass the filter (including
altering spelling, punctuation) is considered offensive posting. Any usage of
partially obscured profanity (e.g. f##k) is not tolerated, with the sole
exception being used in the discussion of the content of any medium (games,
movies, books, etc.). In addition, purposeful use of profanity in an inflammatory
manner, even without filter dodging, is not permissible.
Violent or otherwise offensive images: Overtly
grotesque, obscene, sexual or disturbing images will not be tolerated. If you
are in doubt, don’t post it. If image is being used in a clinical context (i.e.
prisoner abuse in Rikers or the comparison of the violence by turning off the
gore feature in Unreal Tournament) you can post a SLIGHTLY more intense image,
but please link to the image using the url tags rather than img and enclose a warning
of some sort in the post. The basic laws for content still apply, even when
linking.
Linking to websites containing offensive
content: We do not care if the post is to a website as long as it does not
violate the offensive images rule. We are a Gaming Website and do not approve
of inappropriate sites (i.e. porn or any obscenities).
Hate speech and racism: Any posts that insult
the nature, color, race, personal
beliefs or religion of a person or group will not be tolerated. This
organization is diverse and will not tolerate racism or hate speech. Posts will
be deleted and user will receive warning points and suspension upon review by
moderators for the severity of the post.
Discussion of how to commit illegal acts
(including piracy/copyright infringement/ boosting or cheating) is not
permitted. This includes discussion of bombing a building, cat burglary,
knocking up gas stations, how to acquire pirated files and CD keys, how to run
pirated software, how to mount illegally downloaded ISO files, how to install
mod chips and hacking and cheating in multiplayer video games.
Giving out the personal information of other
forum members is forbidden. Example of personal information includes pictures
of other members, real names, addresses, and phone numbers. We at aXs gaming
respect the privacy of the users and wish that all members will abide by this
rule. Staff, Moderators and Admin do not
have access to this information.
Spam: We don’t like spam. Spam clutters up the
forums, disrupts discussion, and on the whole is bad. We’ll delete spam when we
see it, and take action as required against the member in question. Our
definition of spam includes:
Completely unintelligible posts
Posts that consist solely of emoticons
Posts that consist of only one word (that may or
may not also
include emoticons)
Repeated advertisement
Flaming and Trolling
Flaming verb: To engage in an online argument
usually involving
unfounded personal attacks by one or more parties.
Trolling verb: To purposefully antagonize other
people on the internet,
generally on message boards.
Flaming and trolling can be done a number of
different ways, from
making hostile and blatantly confrontational posts about a controversial
topic to insulting somebody’s intelligence. We do not tolerate flaming or
trolling here, and offenders will be dealt with accordingly. Flaming is (but
not limited to):
Attacks on somebody’s person (rather than on
their argument) in any
discussion
Repeated unfounded bashing of an individual,
group, or idea
Questioning the faith or sincerity of the
beliefs on another member
Attacking another members race, nationality,
hair color, fashion sense, or
anything else of that nature in an attempt to discredit them.
Forum Government.
aXs Gaming is an organization that prides itself
on mature open discussions. We want everyone to have a good time and enjoy.
This does not mean the forums are a democracy. You do not have freedom of
speech here. The Forum Administration have absolute authority, but ultimately
answer to aXs ZiLLA. Admins, Moderators and Staff are here to ensure rules are
followed and everyone can have the best experience possible.
The administration team operates at their
discretion. Consequences are decided based on a variety of factors including,
but not limited to, prior behavior, and the circumstances involved.
If you have an issue with a member of the
administration team (mod or admin), bring it up privately via a PM or e-mail.
The questioning of authority in public is not permitted under any
circumstances. If you have a question about a decision, ask it via Personal
Message on the forums. The exceptions to this rule are rare, trust us, they
will be obvious.

MISUSE OF FORUMS
You must not misuse our Website or Forums. The acXess Code of Conduct
(linked at the top of the Forums) clearly details exactly what is and what is
not acceptable behavior. Although we aim for a fun and friendly atmosphere, you
must remember that the main purpose of the forums is for players to communicate
with one another in a safe and secure environment.
These forums may not be used to attack moderators,
or any member of the forum. This type of behavior will not be tolerated.
Questions:
A Mod took action against my thread and
I disagree; can I create a thread to contest this?
No. All moderators follow a strict set of procedures. We monitor all actions taken and we will take any appropriate action necessary. Creating threads to complain about a moderator is against the rules and will not be tolerated.
Warning Levels and Negative Reputation Points:
This forum has two systems to communicate members behavior.
Warning levels: The Warning levels can be
increased and decreased by the Administration Team. At a Warning level of 3 the member will be contacted to review any issues,
at a warning level of 5 the member will be
placed on a moderator list that all his/her posts will have to be approved
before they can be “seen”. At a Warning level of 7 a
member will be suspended for no less than 14 days
and a Warning level of 10 will result in a
member being banned and/or IP Banned.
Reputation Points: Negative reputation points
can be awarded along with positive ones by your fellow members. The
Administration Team can see who gave these points and why. After 2 negative
reputation points, the Administrative team will review the reasons, investigate
and then adjust as needed. Warranted negative reputation may be deleted and
converted into a Warning level. Note
limits are set on members with how many positive and negative reputation points
can be given in a 24 hr period. If you abuse this system by spamming negative
points, appropriate action will be taken.
